The Class of 2023 has a plethora of opportunities designed to facilitate the college application process, including informational college sessions, GoingMerry.com and Application Fee Free Day.

The informational college sessions held at Kaynor by college representatives were first announced by Mrs. Jennifer Graby, senior guidance counselor, in the Class of 2023’s Counseling Google Classroom.

Senior Jamie Jannetty recalls that these sessions “[gave] a lot of information about FAFSA” and provided important “information on certain colleges.”

Additionally, members of student support services promoted the use of GoingMerry.com to provide all students with scholarship opportunities.

"Visit [college campuses] so you can get a feel for the school and make sure it's the right fit for you."

According to Graby, GoingMerry.com is “a good online venue to receive scholarships” along with Naviance and CollegeBoard.

With Application Fee Free Day occurring from Nov. 15 to Nov. 30, it is important for students interested in this opportunity to start thinking about their college application journey.

Mrs. Jennifer Cummings advised students who are preparing for the college application process to “start as early as possible” and “visit [college campuses] so you can get a feel for the school and make sure it's the right fit for you."

With these new opportunities at Kaynor, counselors are urging students who are interested in attending college after high school to reach out if they ever have questions with the application process.
