The longest reigning monarch of England, Queen Elizabeth II, died on Sept. 8, 2022 at the age of 96 while at the Balmoral Castle in Scotland around 4:30 p.m.
The death of the Queen came as a shock to many, many thought she would live forever.
Senior Jenna Garraffo said the Queen's death was a shock to her.
“I was in forensics class and my sister sent [the article] to me and I shouted it out to everyone,” Garraffo said.
Everything the royal family does, from public speaking to fashion choices, and even family drama, typically gets the attention of the media.

"Let us not take ourselves too seriously. None of us has a monopoly on wisdom"

"It makes it interesting to [hear] what people say about [the royal family] and creates a distraction [regarding] what is going on in the world,” said Mr. Matthew Quezada.
“It makes sense because she [the Queen] was very important for a long time and she lived for a long time,” said Senior Jasmine Brill.
"I don't really follow the royal family, but after the passing of the Queen I am interested to see what lies ahead" said senior Jayden Gomez.
The Queen's funeral was held on Sep. 19 at Westminster Abbey for the State Funeral.
The funeral was broadcast on many stations in the UK and in the United States.
